New for the 2013-2014 School year I am bringing back banana bucks.  At the end of the semester all 14 homerooms that I teach will be able to participate in an online auction.  Here's how it will work:

Earning banana bucks:

1.  1 per class period.  If you do not receive any behavior tallies, are on time, prepared, and participate, you get a banana buck.

2.  2 per fitness day.  These are earned by respectful hallway behavior and good sportsmanship.

3.  Leadership/Helping:  Helping set up or take down activities or helping others in need.

4.  Citizenship:  Helping clean up equipment, classroom, etc.  I will make volunteer activity lists that students can volunteer for or just verbally ask for volunteers.

5.  Random activities and challenges in class--for example, volunteering for a demonstration, answering trivia questions, contests and moving challenges.

6.  Health journaling/logs.  I will give students oppurtunities to log food/activity for bucks.

7.  ???

I'll keep a tally of the activities I used for banana bucks.

The Banana Buck Bank:

2015-This year I'm trying out class dojo.  Since class dojo doesn't let kids see their totals, I will post the Class Dojo screenshot for each homeroom.  

The Auction: 

2015-2016 school year:  I am going to try "mini" auctions each quarter and see if that works out better!   I will try to make sure that both sessions have equal opportunities to earn points.  I'll open the online auction up after school. Students will need to sign in with their gmail accounts and will be invited to the auction.  I will have a variety of items for students to bid on.  I will develop a list of items and begin to add pics as the year goes on.  I take donations?  You've heard of the phrase, "One man's trash, is another man's treasure."  Well, if you are cleaning up and find that you have items that are going to be tossed or donated, think about this program.  I've already found several items myself that is going into the auction. 

That pretty much sums it up!  This will be my first time doing one big auction with 14 homerooms, but the kids seem excited so lets hope it works!
