Every year students participate in the bones tournament. Students compete in a challenge where a deck of 20 bones are flipped. The student to hit the correct bone first, wins that card. After going through the deck of 20 bones, the player with the most bones wins. Students are placed in brackets so that all students participate and try to work their way to the final 4, so that they can compete for the championship.

For the 2013 school year we will be working on creating a human body. Through out the year we will be adding systems to our poster. We started with a base that includes most of the Digestive System. All of the parts have been labeled and colored. I actually got this part from pinterest. Next, for 2nd quarter, we started on the Skeletal System. Right now we are in the middle of production. I will add pictures when we begin to put the pieces together. Each quarter we will add more and I will update the website with handouts and directions. I already have found that there are things that I will do differently next year! Have fun watching our master pieces grow!
The Digestive System (plus some other organs) Sample
The site that I got these organs from:

I created the labels to go with it. Available for download.

The Skeletal System Sample: (We aren't finished with this yet.) We are cutting and pasting right now. We will have our parts laminated and I've got velcroe for the labels and brass fasteners to make our bones moveable. (More pics to come soon!)
Well part 2 of the body system project is done. We attached all the bones using tabs so the parts would be movable. We ended up stapling the bones on because we ran out of time. I think for the next time--I will have students put organ names and labels on before we construct the human body. Now which system to all next????
I will post the final pics soon.
